I live on the Jos Plateau Central Nigeria; Hausa is a second language, widely spoken to communicate from childhood. English, taught from childhood in academic circles. I took Hausa as a course in college for the fun of it, and for need to communicate effectively with the large population who only understand Hausa language mostly in faith-based environments, the markets as well as communities across different tribes in Central and Northern Nigeria. I speak and write only English better than Hausa.
