** No Agency, required Video Call ** We have a series of VR machine-based training experiences that we are creating for an industrial facility. Unity, for the Quest 2. We’ve discovered that some of the VR functionality needed has proven a bit troublesome. Check this video: [login to view URL] We need the white round spool of paper that is shown being placed onto the machine to have a couple of different types of functionality that is currently giving us issues: 1. Once placed on the machine and “locked-in” (the button being pressed by the user), The paper needs to be manually unraveled off of the spool to create enough "paper slack" to complete the threading of the paper on the machine. Right now, you see the user pulling the end of the paper to create slack, as this is our “band-aid to fix the issue” in the experience. See video([login to view URL]) of what needs to be created in VR for this section. 2. If the user doesn’t manually unravel the paper from the paper spool, and tries to create slack on the paper by pulling the end of the paper, the paper they’re pulling on should break from the spool, forcing the user to go back to the spool and manually rotate it to create slack. Note: the paper in real life is very thin, cotton-like: think the paper that is used around a cigarette that holds tobacco. 3. The paper that has been unraveled from the spool (known as, the slack paper), should be life-like. Meaning, natural curves and flows, piles onto of itself. Think of the way cellophane hangs and curves and folds onto itself. Right now, you see a stiff, straight line of slack paper, being stuck at whatever position it was dropped in. It should naturally hang from whatever it’s nearest connection point is (in this case, a roller/cylinder on the machine). See video #2 as a reference. The slack Paper should be able to be easily grabbed by the user from anywhere, which would then also change the “natural flow” and hang of the paper. Looking for someone who can jump into this project immediately. A lot of opportunity for you if you can solve this paper issue. Ongoing development work. Thank you.

Hello, I know that you said no agency, but we have developers who can work on that. Basically you need a smooth paper physics akin to a rope. I am guessing we can use rope physics and make it look like paper and then work on it. Do let me know if you are still interested in getting that fixed, our devs has extensive knowledge of ropes in VR. Regards Taanga Studios

Hi, I've been developing Unity games for over half a decade, and I'd be able to help rectify the paper issue. I actually did the thesis for my Master's degree on VR (my thesis was on redirected walking, not this specific issue of course, but I worked on a VR experience using Unity and understand how important immersion is) and am extremely passionate about the field. It is my opinion that VR training will be integral to workplace training in many fields, so I'd love to help out with this. I own an Oculus Quest 2 so there'd be no issues in that regard.

Hi, I think I have a solution for your paper spool problem. I am a professional and experienced game developer, well seasoned in the industry. I have worked in a huge amount of projects starting from mobile, to VR and even in-house game engines. I also have a team of skilled 3D artists and music compositors if you'd require any extra assets or tweaks to your current ones. Let me know if you would like to discuss the future of your project. Cheers, Lukas
