I am keen to build a simple / cheap recording device that is capable of storing 7 days of recorded audio. It's not a surveillance device, but would be similiar in design (kind of like a very cheap dicta-phone).
I would like a prototype build to me that I could replicate cheaply to produce dozens (will potentially Freelancer the mass production also, but for now, just want the prototype).
The design specifications I have for the device are:
Is capable of storing 7 days (ie 168 hours) of continuous audio (battery life and storage). [less is possible, but minimum of 72 hours)
Costs no more than $20 to manufacture.
Is no larger than 10cm tall, 3cm wide and 2 cm deep.
Has as good a quality microphone and recording as possible (given the storage and cost constraints).
In addition, I need a full list of the components used and a tally showing they cost less than $20 total cost.
