My company builds an office suite, similar to Microsoft Office. It it is available in several languages, including English and Greek. Your task in this project is to: 1. Proofread the Greek translation (around 21000 messages) 2. Add missing Greek translations (around 900 strings) Each string can be anything from a single word to a complete sentence. Most strings tend to be just a few words ("Select all", "Format paragraph" etc.) When proofreading, you need to check for all aspects of correctness, including: - Does the Greek translation correctly represent the English source message? - Is the Greek grammar correct? - Does the translation use a language style acceptable to most Greeks? - Does the translation contain typos, wrong translations etc.? Fix all errors you can find. During translation, I expect you to read and understand the English messages and create a faithful representation of the English message in Greek - in correct grammar, with the terminology used in the rest of the translation, without dialect or profane language etc. All program messages are contained in plain text files that contain English and several other languages: [us][uk]"File commands" [de]"Dateibefehle" [fr]"Commandes fichier|Fichier" [us][uk]"Basic word processing commands" [de]"Grundlegende Textverarbeitungsbefehle" [fr]"Commandes basiques de traitement de texte|Editer" Your task is to edit these text files to update the translations. Prerequisites: * Your native language must be Greek. You must choose words and grammar in a way that the translations are acceptable to any Greek speaker. * You must have excellent grammatical skills in Greek. * The resulting translation must look "authentic" to native Greek readers. * No automatic translators allowed. * You will get tools to compile the translations into the software so that you are able to see the translation in the actual software. This is necessary as translations often depend on the context.
