Dear Freelancers, I am looking for someone with a specific knowledge base in developing Non Profit organisations within Australia. For some time I have been developing education within many developing countries. I have always sought funding through friends and family. I however have realized that I want to ensure to have a larger impact. I need specific assistance from someone to guide and assist me through the process of structuring a non profit organisation based in Australia. The broad goal of this organisation will be to empower those in need through education. Enabling those without the opportunity for a quality education to be able to receive this and develop educational quality as a whole. The sole focus initially will be based on a school I have built in Cambodia near Siem Reap, you can see some information about this school online on youtube, though videos I’ve made with my organisation EDventure International and on the website itself. I shall post some of these links below. I need assistance with - Research - Development - Document writing - An understanding of the legalities and processes that need to be put in place This would be an ongoing role and you would work directly with me, towards the goal of achieving the non profit structure. You require a passion for education, the developing world, making a difference, creative thinking, excellent writing skills, robust researching capabilities, patience and tenacity. I fulfil all your selection criteria and this is the perfect project for me! I am an Australian human rights and contracts lawyer, currently finishing a contract in Mozambique, as an advisor ('inspirator') on human rights advocacy and campaigning strategies for a strategic partner organisation of ActionAid Mozambique with the ActionAid International People4Change program. While I am completing this contract, I am only available to work up to 15 hours a week. However, from 6th June, I will be available to work with you full-time for up to 40 hours a week, remotely from Mozambique and South Africa until around the end of June, then remotely from Brazil until the end of September, when I might return to Australia (Sydney or Melbourne). I have constant, fast internet access here that´s good enough for Skype. I have been admitted as a lawyer in Australia since 2002 and have 8 years´ paid work experience as a lawyer, contracts manager and legal advisor in Australia and Mozambique in the NGO, education and corporate sectors. I have also worked as a paralegal and legal secretary for 7 years in Australia and UK. For 14 years I have been a passionate volunteer in Australia, Brazil, Rwanda and Thailand for many international and local NGOs, including Anistia Internacional Brasil, Street Child United, Street Child World Cup, the documentary 'Corridors of Children', Children United, ASSIST-Rwanda, Never Again Rwanda, World Vision Australia, Amnesty International Australia, RACS.

Hello Jamie. I understand that in this project, you want assistance in establishing an Australian non-profit organisation under Australian law, although the project beneficiaries will be based in Cambodia. Specifically, you would like someone who has done this previously. In order to get this off the ground, you require assistance in researching, developing and formalising the legal and financial structures that will assist EDventure International to attract funding and to establish itself as a legitimate NGO. Jamie, I’ll be really honest here. I have only some of the experience that you are looking for. I have zero experience in setting up such organisations. However, I have worked in Canberra for the last 7 years, and so I understand how things look from inside the public service to some degree. Another advantage I can offer you is that I am here on the ground in Canberra, so I can actually meet with people directly on your behalf if required, rather than relying upon generic websites to gain information. In short, I can help you to navigate government up to a point. I may also be able to introduce you to people who have a greater skill set than I do. In order to do this project most effectively, I would need to talk to you to better understand where the project is currently up to. I am also not sure if you are currently based in Melbourne, or in Cambodia. I am happy to discuss this further with you either over email, or via LinkedIn.
