DMA Designer

Job Summary: As a DMA (District Metered Area) Designer for the Water Project, you will play a vital role in designing and optimizing the distribution network for water supply within a designated district. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of water distribution systems. Your expertise will contribute to improving water management, reducing water loss, and ensuring optimal water supply to customers. Key Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing water distribution networks and identify potential areas for creating District Metered Areas. Design and develop DMA schemes, taking into consideration water demand patterns, geographical constraints, and existing infrastructure. Plan and allocate appropriate metering points, control valves, and monitoring equipment within the DMA to enable accurate measurement and control of water flow. Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to integrate DMA design into overall water network planning and expansion projects. Utilize hydraulic modeling software to simulate water flow and pressure within the DMA, ensuring the system operates efficiently and meets required standards. Analyze system performance, including pressure variations, water loss, and potential bottlenecks, and recommend optimization measures. Conduct scenario-based simulations to assess the impact of network modifications, such as infrastructure upgrades or changes in demand patterns. Implement strategies and technologies to minimize water loss and improve leak detection within the DMA. Analyze water consumption data and monitor meter readings to identify areas of potential leakage or unauthorized use. Develop protocols and procedures for remote monitoring and control of water supply within the DMA. Stay updated with relevant industry regulations and guidelines related to water distribution and metering. Prepare reports and documentation on DMA design, performance analysis, water loss reduction initiatives, and compliance measures. Assist in regulatory audits and inspections, providing necessary information and supporting documentation as required. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience in water distribution network design, hydraulic modeling, and water management. Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS) and geographic information systems (GIS) software. Familiarity with telemetry, SCADA systems, and data analysis tools. Knowledge of water conservation practices, leakage detection techniques, and water supply regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and propose effective solutions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
