PURPOSE OF POSITION: To maintain and improve Furniture For Life’s websites. RESPONSIBILITIES: Own functionality and performance of multiple WordPress websites across all development stages, from new build to maintenance Proactively identify and implement site improvement opportunities, including plugin selection, theme enhancements, site speed, cart functionality, and general code health Work with hosting services (setup and management) and other vendors involved in the overall web development process On a monthly basis, perform maintenance on all websites to ensure all software is up to date, performance is high (based on Google Core Web Vitals), UI/UX functionality is sound, and technical SEO is optimized Update content provided by other team members as needed Create new web pages as needed in collaboration with other team members Quickly fix website errors and respond promptly to website-related requests Manage website hosts (WP Engine and Flywheel) Manage DNS Settings TO PERFORM FUNCTIONS EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY: Ability to work server-side in support of WordPress Knowledge of site optimization and health in regards to web development Solid prioritization skills and the ability and willingness to balance several ongoing projects and simultaneous management of multiple websites Ability to vet and identify additional needs and plug ins for the sites as more functionality demands arise Manage development projects and assignments on schedule and within budget Ability to identify site needs, improve stability, and enhance performance Responsive – Available outside of normal business hours if site issues occur, which may include but are not limited to crashes, malfunctions and downtime MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Full-stack WordPress web developer skill set Proficient using Elementor 3 + years of WordPress web development experience with the ability to work server-side in support of WordPress Knowledge of popular WordPress themes, plugins and custom solutions 2+ years of woocommerce experience, including launching the platform, creating and managing products and promotions Functional skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript Familiarity with coding and managing multi-language (EN, VI, KO) sites is a plus Experience with WordPress multisite a plus WORKING CONDITIONS/SAFETY HAZARDS: Remote PAY CLASS & RANGE: Contract $15-20/hr x 20-30 hours weekly
