Print Spooler Monitoring

I require a module/routine written in Visual Basic 6 (VB6) to monitor all installed printers on a computer. I've searched the web and found the "FirstPrinterChangeNoti<wbr />fication" API functions which seems like what I want. I would like each time a print job is submitted to ANY printer on the computer to be notified using a simple msgbox so that I can see where to place my existing vb6 code. I would also like to be able to see the status of the print job (ie, printing or printed) and again be notified with a msgbox. Please highlight in the code where I would place the my existing 'action' code when a notification is received from the print monitoring functions, hence the reason for msgboxes.
