Powerpoint authoring system

We want a simple-to-use Windows app that automatically adds several capabilities to existing Powerpoint presentations. The app will place a button in existing Powerpoints so that viewers can click and record audio comments for each slide, and then (at the end of the presentation) request transcription or translation of their recorded comments. The app will operate in either manual or batch processing mode. The main functions of the app will be to: 1) Add Narration buttons for each slide Buttons will be automatically inserted in each slide. People who click on them in Powerpoint's "Normal" or "Slide Show" view will see a popup SoundRecorder, to record up to 10 minutes for that slide. One recording per slide will be permitted. 2) Insert a standard "Next Steps" slide The app also will insert a standard slide called "Next Steps - Enhance this Presentation" at the end of each presentation. On this slide, individuals who have recorded comments in a given Powerpoint presentation will see a way to request specific enhancement services (such as transcription, translation, rewriting, and voiceovers), set the budget for these services, and set a completion deadline. Once the commenter confirms the recordings is ready to send, the Powerpoint presentation will self-execute the final steps. 3) Transfer of the enhancement request(s) to the designated recipients The app will also integrate in each Powerpoint the standalone capability to: - generate a structured enhancement request based on last-slide data above (passed to a hardwired URL or email address) - autoconvert slides in the Presentation into graphic images (JPEGs). - batch convert the .wav narration files into similarly named .mp3 files (for forwarding to transcribers) - create a .zip file (with designated audio) for forwarding to providers of the enhancement services. A working prototype is needed by Feb 1 and a final app (with docs) by Feb 15, 2006. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The application will need to run on Windows 2K or XP operating systems, and be able to process all presentations created by Powerpoint 97 and higher. We will welcome, but do not require, the application's ability to add the indicated functions to OpenOffice Impress presentations.
