We have a php script that preforms Sphinx search queries on a MySQL database. The database records consist of raw webpage/html/css/js content. The query output should be the URL of the raw webpage content.
We need the php search script changed to search literal strings and return correct results, just as if the LIKE % % query was used in MySQL.
Examples of literal searches (without quotes):
"z=$zopim=function" - returns no results
"@[login to view URL]" - returns an error
"writec" - returns a few results, but many records match if using:
SELECT * FROM `data` WHERE `data` LIKE '%writec%'
Showing rows 0 - 29 (1,550 total, Query took 1.9386 sec)
You may need to change the indexing characterset and re-index the database to allow for literal string searches.
See attached file for example script.
