This project involves porting an already existing and working Linux perl script to run in a similar fashion on a FreeBSD machine. The perl script is designed to run periodically and check background processes running for each user and kill any necessary to keep their process within their max allowed background process limit. Modifications include parsing FreeBSD ps -auxw output, and gathering information on users allowed max background processes. I may be able to pay a little cash and offer free services such as shell accounts or web hosting for help with this project =)
## Deliverables
Looking for a fully functional port of a perl script to limit a users set background processes. Current script is already working in a linux environment. Script needs to be ported to read "**-" and "??" from ps state output to determine background processes. Script needs to be able to gather list of users and number of allowed background processes and check against the list. If possible script should be able to run log output (when script is a cron job).
## Platform
FreeBSD 4.9
