We own and run a large network of specialist websites in the UK called www.etcnetwork.co.uk. The network has grown as has the breadth of information we offer to our users. In fact, we plan to add more sources of information during the next phase of development. Whilst all of the sites are stand-alone, they are all based on one basic template. We group the sites by subject into about ten categories. The template is adapted slightly for each category (colour, typeface etc) but essentially remains the same for every site. The time has come for us to considerably improve the look & feel of these sites. We still want one central template design which can be adapted for each category of site. However, there is one key issue that needs to be addressed: A design is required for two parts of the site: the home page, but more importantly, the results page. this is where we will be displaying large quantities of information from multiple sources. This page will need the most expertise. etc network sites each pull in information from multiple sources (internal databases, thrid parties, RSS feeds and so on). The most important issue in any new design will be the systematic and logical presentation of this information. Users of the sites must immediately be aware of the extent of the valuable and relevant information. At the same time, we generate income from some sources and not others - these income generating sources need to be positioned so as to maximise revenue. Finally, we need to find a solution to the logo problem. ie every site needs a logo, but it isn't practical to make 200 individual logos. How could we solve this? This is a "website design only" brief. We will be progamming the new look and feel internally. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ DELIVERABLES BEFORE REPLYING TO THIS BRIEF. Please take a look at some of the current etc network sites (via [login to view URL]) before replying to this brief.
## Deliverables
This is a "website design only" brief. We only want to hear from companies who have relevant design experience. Please respond to this brief with the following information. Any replies which do not include specific answers to these questions will be ignored. Please provide the following: 1. Links to at least three current examples of appropriate website design ie information/directory-based websites (not stores) which pull information from multiple sources. Ideally we are looking for web designers who can demonstrate the ability to clearly present large amounts of information on the page. 2. Testimonials. We will want to speak to the owners/managers of those sites, so please also supply contact name for each site. 3. An outline of how you would solve the logo issue. 4. A brief explanation of the process you would take us through from accepting the brief to delivering the visuals. 5. Please indicate if you would be prepared to supply an outline design (concepts) as part of the selection process. 6. An outline of the timings and cost estimates. Please separate the logo solution costs and timings. 7. Any other information that would allow us to assess your suitability for this project. Based on the above information, we will supply a detailed design brief to a small number of companies. At that point we will ask for a quote. Deliverables: Visuals of home page and results page. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
