Environmental Calculator: Environmental Recycling Group working with businesses, needs a environmental calculator to calculate the: 1. Savings to the Environment or 2. Carbon Footprint (in terms of impacting the Environment either positively through recycling or negatively by not recycling). The above will be based on the following: - Priority: 1. Beverage containers: aluminum cans, plastic bottles. The U.S. EPA has a model called WARM (Waste Reduction Model) that shows the approximate Green House Gas (GHG) Reduced as the result of dirverting waste, i.e., aluminum, from the waste stream, and recycled. The model is based on weight units of Metric of tons. However, the Model needs to be scaled-down to individual units or aggregate of units of aluminum cans and (pet)plastic bottles, in weights of grams or ounces, and collectively they will represents fractions of metric tons (over time): 6 months of 100 businesses x 300 will equal to .5 Metric Ton of savings of GHG to the environment. Where as 1 week for one biz = .00006 Ton - these are examples, and not representative of live case examples. This is not a complicated project, anyone with a adequated math background and Excel proficiented, should be able to do this. A Similar calculator is not be based on the U.S. EPA's WARM model, but can be based on a number of existing online environmental calculator. This may be a better suite for the bid being requested. This will encompass products, possibly cell phones, inkjet cartridges, etc. - but necessarily comprehensive. The EPA's WARM model should be relatively simple, since the formulas are already there, and it's a matter of a fraction of the metric ton. The Scale should be units of .035 & .10 lbs mulitply by aggregates of 100 or more and further multiply by 100 over time weeks/months, Quarters. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
