I don't have time to read the manual. I need someone to show me how to do the following:
Have a report which runs on a single record from a query Q1, and within it a chart (maybe as a sub-report) which pulls N records from another query,Q2 and displays those in one chart.
I attach an example, three table database and a specific description of a test report. If you deliver the report (and subreport?) as specified I will see how you did it and be able to apply it more generally.
-----------------
In the example mdb attached, we have three tables:
products (3 rows)
sales (18 rows)
periods (7 rows)
Now I want a report which takes a product id and
a period id and produces something like this for
product id = 1
period id = 5:
---------------------------------------------
Product Name: Widget
Sales Period: Jun
Sales: 145
< CHART >
------------------------------------------------
And, the chart shows a barchart with three bars
showing the sales of widgets for EACH of
the last three sales periods (i.e. Apr, May,Jun)
with those month labels underneath the x-axis
The structure of the solution must, of course, work for bar numbers other than 3. That's just an aribtrary number chosen for this test example.
I'm assuming it's a straightforward thing that takes a few minutes to an expert. I just don't want to have to wade through the Access documentation, and it's also a way to assess a potential future Access subcontractor for other work.
