Create a simple Windows print driver that will always print to a file. The file name will be different for each print job and the programmer will need to supply a method for another application (such as the printing app) to specify the file name if printing to this driver. The driver will be compatible with pcl 5e (compatible with the HP Laserjet 4) for a 600dpi printer. You can use the Microsoft standard drivers for this such as [login to view URL] and pcl5eres.dll. It is possible that this whole project may only involve new .inf files to go with existing MS drivers (although may involve more).
## Deliverables
1) All driver files necessary so that I can install your driver programmatically using the Windows GDI function AddPrinterDriver( … ) onto any windows system (NT 4.0+, Win2000, WinXP, Win 98, Win ME). You may need different files for different versions of Windows. All source code (if any) in C or C++, and scripting and project files used with the MS Driver dev kits and VC++ 6.0. Nothing can be developed in VB. We MUST be able to re-compile any dll or exe you supply using the source code (other than Microsoft dll's, OS files, etc). 2) Documentation sufficient for us to maintain, modify, and use any components that you have written. This includes source code comments sufficient for another programmer to look at the code and understand almost immediately what you have done. You will also supply documentation for how to use AddPrintDriver( ) to install the driver on each system. You will also supply documentation for how another app can programmatically specify the file name to be printed to without prompting the user. For example, my app (not the driver) can store the file name in the registry or in a file immediately before the print job is started. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
## Platform
Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0 +, 2000, XP. You do not have to support Win 95, although Win 98 is required. You may need 3 or more different versions of this driver in order to support all of the above versions of Windows.
