Registry Management Application

This application will take an XML file as input (Schema to follow) and produce pages that look like the images that are linked here. The application doesnt exist yet in reality and the images are mockups built in visio. Important things to remember: This is meant to be an assistant to making common registry changes. It will be used by novice users. The application will need to make backups of EVERY edit that is made. (Reading the value of the reg entry before editing, and saving it to a datafile.) Each execution will need to make its own backup file. Each file will need to be marked with a datestamp and the number of edits within it. Each edit within it will need to have full information attached to it (not just the regedit line, but all the information in the xml record.) Users can download updated [login to view URL] (the xml file) files from our web site. This will need to be done fairly securely. User will enter a username and password combo. These will have been previously setup in our system. Our preferred method of encryption and access would be for the app to encrypt with md5 and access server with username and password POSTed and then expect either an error code, or the xml data. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows 98,98se,nt,xp Written in visual basic 6, visual c++ or ANY Visual Studio language. Must include project file for selected language and language must be agreed to prior to accepting bid.
