Outlook Add-In - Meeting Invitation Add-In (Node.js)

We operate an audio/video conferencing service, with a new product launching in late June 2020 / early July 2020. We have a pre-existing Outlook Scheduling Plugin available, which is the older style "COM Add-In", coded in C#. It works fine, and authenticates against our simple REST API (backend we have built), and retrieves the meeting for the user as necessary. We want to rebuild it as a Node.js application as this opens up compatibility, ability to have it in the Office App Store (free of course) and no 32bit / 64bit considerations to worry about. • Timeline – development to start ASAP, ideally ? • Node.js / WebApp based, not COM Add-In (which is what we have today). • Outlook for Windows and Mac + Outlook for Web compatibility (appears to be standard with these add-in’s) • Add-In will authenticate the user against our service (using our API endpoints), and then upon successful authentication, allow for meeting invite information provided by our API to be added to a new or existing calendar meeting invitation. • Should have assets/config/translations separated out to allow for recompiling add-in to be white labeled for other vendors/environments. • Add-In should be able to be submitted successfully to MS AppSource (or the relevant Outlook App Store). • Ability to sign-out of the add-in, in the case of a user wanting to sign into a separate account. • Reference links: o [login to view URL] o [login to view URL] o [login to view URL] Customer workflow: • User is a customer of ours already, downloads / adds the Add-In from MS AppSource (we’d provide links from their customer portal, and support / help centre) • Upon first launch they are required to authenticate with email and password. • From Outlook Calendar view, they have ability to create meeting invite with their meeting join information, or sign-out of add-in. • Meeting information is provided by the external service, and will include meeting join details. • If they sign-out, authentication fails or password changes, they are prompted to re-authenticate again before being able to add meeting join information to a new / existing or open meeting invite. We can provide more information as necessary, including setting up accounts to demo our current plugin for workflow, getting on a video call to go through the workflow, provide details on the current REST API used.
