Design and Development of a SaaS Web Application for Database Management

We are looking to design and develop a SaaS (Software as a Service) product that allows users to import, manage, and interact with their supplier price lists through a web interface. The project involves the creation of a web-based application that interfaces with an existing MySQL database hosted on AWS RDS. Project Features: File Upload: Users should be able to upload supplier price list files in CSV or XLSX format. The application must be able to read and parse these files. Column Mapping: After uploading a file, users should be able to map the columns in the file to specific fields (Supplier code, Product Title, EAN/UPC, Brand, Price, Quantity). If a column is missing from the import file, the user should have the option to specify a default value. Data Import: Once the columns are mapped, the user should be able to import the data into a table in the database. Each supplier's data should be stored in a separate table. Data Management: Users should have the option to overwrite the data for an existing supplier with new data. They should also be able to view, search, and manage the imported data through the web interface. User Management: As a SaaS product, the application should support multiple user accounts, each with its own separate set of data. The Project Scope: Frontend Development: Design and develop a responsive web interface using modern frontend technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue). Backend Development: Develop server-side application logic using Python (Django or Flask). The backend should handle file uploads, column mapping, data import, and data management functionality. API Development: Design and implement a RESTful API for communication between the frontend and backend. Database Integration: Integrate the web application with our existing AWS RDS MySQL database. Deployment: Deploy the web application to a production environment. Configure domain, SSL, server, and other necessary settings. Documentation: Provide detailed documentation for the entire application including the setup process, codebase, and usage. Training: Optionally, if our team decides to build the project in-house, provide training to our staff members. Preferred Skills: Experience with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, React/Angular/Vue). Proficiency in Python and experience with a Python web framework (Django or Flask). Experience with RESTful API design and development. Experience with AWS, specifically RDS and EC2. Experience with SQL and database design. Good understanding of SaaS application architecture and design principles. Please provide examples of similar projects you have completed in the past. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of designing and developing SaaS web applications. Training experience is a plus if our team decides to develop the project in-house.
