Teach me how to add mods that will be recognized by my minecraft server

My family and I all want to play minecraft together and we all live at the same physical address and use the same internet. But our sleep/play time varies wildly with each other. I want a server set up that we can all play modded minecraft on. Ideally it would be the FTB Presents Direwolf20 (which includes LWJGL 2 version 2.9.4-nightly-20150209, Minecraft version 1.7.10, and Forge 10.13.4.1558). Right now, we can play together, but it requires my computer to be running the client and for me to be in-game as I'm hosting the server through the client through the LAN. Right now we are all using MultiMC 5 to launch the game and all the mods work and we all have minecraft premium accounts. I have already tried to set up the modded server software myself and I can make this work as a Vanilla world but I don't know how to make the server software load the mod files. I was hoping that simply copying and pasting from the mod folder for the client into the mods folder for the server would do the job, but no luck. I need someone with more familiarity with this stuff to show me what to do, and I'm willing to pay to learn it.
