I need to recover a Word file from a Mac, software is Word 2011, I only see asterisks now and have used several online methods and applications but none work. The file was fine and suddenly it turned into asterisks. I am working on Word 2011, 14.0.0 and have trouble getting it updated. I also tried Stellar Data Recovery but got nowhere.

Unfortunately this is a bug in Word 14.0.0 for Mac. The only way seems to be recovering the autosave version of the document. I can give it a try over remote connection.
