Migration Compiler Translation Tool

The purpose of Migration Compiler Translation tools is to support the challenges of handling incompatible database formats between legacy and emergent database formatted environments. In large scale production environments for example say SQL-Server 2005 databases such environments are challenged in performing the migration to say SQL-Server 2008 or even SQL-Server 2012 database environments. In other simpler environments it is the conversion of *.doc to *.docx to *.rtf formats for personal use etc. The objective of this project is to take data files from any two non compatible file formats as an example and perform translation on the said files as a set of proof of concept experiments between two non compatible data sources. The translation mechanism should comprise the generation of abstract syntax trees , parse trees and proof trees against the specific source file read and interpreted for these purposes. You will need to run a diff checker function that shows the differences between the two non compatible file formats and then generate an optimizer routine that handles the NFA grammar or side effects. This compiler migration tool allows for backward and forward compatibility between data environments and hence this is a non trivial design experiment and for which attention to your implementation is critical. Your application should be intuitive and user friendly to support the mentioned functionality above. Bonus marks can be given of up to 20% if your tool can run as it’s own web-service and runs and starts as it’s own local virtual machine client/server.
