I have written a book. It includes a number of illustrations/maps and photos.

I seek someone who can convert a very basic photo or a very plain sketch into something that would be presentable as illustrations for my book. As an example what would you do to illustrate the following: No matter how tight the sod was placed, in the fall of the year the field mice started to seek shelter from the coming winter and many found that shelter in the sod and carpet homes of the early settlers. Nights were filled with the sound of them scurrying around the house seeking food. One story describing the relentless invasion of the mice suggested that one member of the Carr family, following the concept: If you build a better mouse trap, the world will beat a path to your door inserted a pencil perpendicularly through the width of an old shoe box just past mid-way point and then removed one end and cut a hole on the other end. The shoebox was placed on the end of a kitchen counter with the open end of the box extending well past the edge of the counter. Each end of the pencil was then taped to the edge of the kitchen counter and a tasty morsel was then placed near the open end of the box. The placement of the pencil caused the end of the shoebox with a hole to sit flat on the counter. A bucket partially filled with water was then placed below the open end of the shoebox. According to supposed witnesses of this ingenious system, a mouse would enter the end of the box with a hole and proceed to the tasty morsel. The weight of the mouse, though slight, would cause the open end of the box to tip to a vertical position, which in turn caused the mouse to fall into the bucket. As soon as the mouse fell from the shoebox, the end with the hole was heavier and the box once again moved back to a position parallel with the top of the counter. All night long mom, dad and the children would hear the splash of another mouse hitting the water.
