Graphic Adjustment -- 2

We are looking for a talented graphic designer who can alter a digital map of a country by adjusting colors that differentiate areas. As part of an academic project, we produced a digital map with regions that are differently colored depending on whether television signals from transmitting stations were available in an area or not. While all signal fields are precisely identified, we are unhappy about the coloring of these signal fields, which we now want to have adjusted. Currently, the graphic has different colors within each signal field, reflecting different categories of signal strength. This leads to an onion-like structure with a coloring depending on the distance from the center of the signal field where the broadcasting station is located. We now want to have the same color for an entire signal field, instead of having this onion structure. Instead, we want to distinguish visually between whole signal fields, which differ depending on the power of a TV station. This is non-trivial, since there are small pixel areas with TV signals from one station overlapping with signal fields from other stations that may not belong into the same power category, and hence require different coloring. We attached exemplary figures to illustrate the task to you, in case you are interested in working on this: 1) The first attachment is the ‘main graphic’ we would like to have altered. 2) The second and third attachment show examples of signal fields that need different coloring but are overlapping in the main graphic. This is the most difficult aspect of the task, since one needs to distinguish between such overlapping fields as precisely as possible when changing the color in the main graphic. 3) The last attachment shows an ‘alternative map’ with a color-scheme that we would propose to be used for the new version of the main graphic. We would be happy to receive alternative versions of the soon-to-be-adjusted main graphic with alternative color schemes, in case alternative color variants are sensible from your perspective as a graphics expert. Note that we were able to produce this alternative map by coloring areas within preexisting regional boundaries of the country. Specifically, we colored counties depending on whether television signals from transmitting stations were available or not. We thereby considered our new categorization of stations depending on their power. Now we want to have our main graphic altered, based on the same categorization of stations and based on the same color scheme (plus alternative ones, if sensible), but with the highest possible precision on a pixel-by-pixel basis, instead of county-by-county basis. In fact, county borders are irrelevant for this task now. Apart from the attached signal field examples, we will provide further images for all signal fields of each station, which will allow you to adjust the color scheme in the main graphic.
