Trasfer of data from TXT to Excel file

As per my understanding, there is a pre-defined template to insert the data from text file to Excel file. Like: 1st 10 characters in column A and then next 6 in column B and so on. I'm very familiar with Excel as I use this software on a daily basis at work. I also know how to perform batch import from TXT to Excel which may lead to a quicker turnaround of this project that the seven days promised. Should it come to it, I have no problem transposing the data by hand as I type very fast (approx. 95 wpm) while maintaining great accuracy. Should you require it, I can suggest a division for the entry (rows / columns). Of course, it will be my pleasure to follow whatever sorting you already have established.
