I have been teaching in one capacity or another for 8 years. I have taught both French and English, to non-native speakers I am a licensed teacher in Minnesota. As a teacher, I understand the importance of a good education for all and how fulfilling that experience can be, particularly in service to others. I have used my French to translate and interpret for a variety of global non-profits, notably Saint-Yves Catholic School, in Haiti. I believe that education is an end in of itself; not a means to an end. If we as teachers help children to understand and live cooperatively in their world, we have done our job.
Teaching language is an act of sharing. We engage together in different tasks that use our vocabulary. I have taught in a camp setting for several summers creating art and language activities that engaged kids of all ages where they are. I tutor students of all ages in a variety of topics, both in person and over Skype.
I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota, with a B.A in French Education and a minor in Political Science. Its mission statement is becoming responsibly engaged in the world.
Hope I can help and that we can find a time that suits us both
