The water system should satisfy the following functions: 1. Provide water at a suitable pressure, quality, and quantity to all the customers. 2. Collect wastewater from customers, store, treat, and properly dispose of treated water and sludge. 3. Estimate and offer alternative solutions for reducing the environmental impact of your proposed water system. Important notes: 1. Design decisions should be justified. Alternatives should be listed, described, and compared. 2. Design should be done for treatment processes and as many elements of the system as possible. 3. The use of open access design software is a must for at least one design element. Evidence of student learning and use of software should be clearly shown. 4. Alternative solutions, techniques, or technologies for addressing challenges should be outlined and compared.
