Need a help with understanding research papers on chipless RFID tags

Hi, I am working on a project for my class and for my project I need to use a chipless RFID tag. I know there have been many successful researches done on this topic and many research papers have been written. But since I am an undergraduate student, I don’t fully understand some of these advanced papers. I have attached one example paper that outlines successful implementation of chipless RFID tag but after reading it twice I still don’t fully understand it. I need a professional to read this paper and similar paper (and conduct researchers if necessary) to help/guide me to build/find DIY RFID tag, and RFID reader for me project. However, -In my project a 2 bits tag would be enough. I am not looking for a tag that have a big capacity. -there are many researches done and many papers written on this area (especially from [login to view URL] Karmaka. from Monash University).
