I need a tally counter for creating donor sites during hair transplantation surgeries. I need the schematics and code, since I don't have the time to work on them, but I can build the device myself. Basic functionality: The patient has an electrode (ECG electrode) on his hand. The other end of the wire is connected to a needle used to create donor sites on the patient's head. When the needle cuts through his skin, the circuit is closed, the device makes a sound (beep) and 1 donor site is added on the counter (of course it's displayed on a screen). The counter should be battery-powered and have a reset button and power switch. Additional function ideas – not necessary – I will choose them depending on price: – a distinct sound for every 100th site created – a small message above the counted sites like: "Donor sites created:" "1247", maybe even with language switch button – "+" and "-" buttons for manual control – I don't know if this is possible, but adjustable sensitivity would be nice (so that it only counts when the needle actually goes through the skin, not just touches it) Please send me your quotations :) Thanks!

I would propose to measure pressure (force) aplyied to the needle in combination with the current sensor. With some calibration, you will be able to distinguish a real "punction" and just a touching of the skin by an electrode (that will be ignored). Please feel free to contact me for discussion. You may need to perform some research and measurement on real skin. For example, it is possible than when punction occurs - pressure became lower for a tiny moment, but conductivity is not changed too much. I have made more than 150 Arduino-based projects on different freelance stocks. I work with Arduino since 2010 and have more than 25 years of experience in programming and electronics.

I have extensive experience in arduino and bioengineering, your project is feasible, this would include ARDUINO 1, lcd screen 16X2 characters, battery, battery charger by USB port, on / off button, reset button, piezo buzzer, two buttons + - for Sensitivity adjustment or a potentiometer, a bracelet for ground, connector for implant needle, we have the material to make a prototype. Functional as you want, with two languages to select, counts of 100, total counts, one beep for each implant, two beeps per 100. In case you require the prototype could be delivered without cost you would pay the shipping.
