Implement the Local Binary Pattern feature extraction from a given image. Implement face recognition on the ATT face dataset using the LBP approach. Each image will be divided into a 5x5 grid and then LBP features computed in each grid cell. The total features for a given face will then be 58x25 (58 for LBP and 25 is the number of blocks in the 5x5 grid). Use 5 images for each person as the known images. The remaining 5 images are to be used for testing. Determine the percent recognition rate. I will provide everything once we discuss the details. I have attached some of my work.
