Hi Everyone,
I need someone who is very familiar with working with Micrsoft server databases. I am replicating [login to view URL] to work on two "dummy" domains - one is for an exact site backup and the other is for a non-production workstation to try out things before we upload them to the live site. All of these are hosted on Windows Servers. The two "dummy" domains are [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] .
The main site has a seperate server for SQL - these two new domains have a db/ folder above root, unlike the main site. I need to duplicate and move these two databases and connect them to the two new sites. I have uploaded both websites except for the SQL. But I have no idea how to change the connection strings (what to change them to) - I would also need to know how to change these values for the PCs at the office that connect to the databases using Access.
I can change the connections in all of the pages myself once I know the right string....the site is a mess in code (which is why we are creating a new workstation) and wouldn't expect anyone to do this unless you would like to.
I did notice and would need some help with getting an aspx page to show in one of the dummy sites... for some reason (and it is located at the same sever) the [login to view URL] is not appearing...but the same files are there as the one that is. I think this may have something to do with permissions.
This is my first time working with Windows servers and I will try to help where I can, although I am not as fluent with the .NET enviroment.
If this could be completed today or tomorrow, it would be ideal!
It would be helpful if you had a copy of Microsoft Enterprise Manager on your machine.
Thanks everybody!
Laura
