I am currently in need of assistance with the setup of HTTPS on an Apache2 subdomain. My server runs on Ubuntu and I have root or sudo user access. The key requirements for the project are as follows: - In-depth knowledge and experience in setting up HTTPS (certbot) on Apache2. - Fluency in Linux-based server management. - I have already setup a free SSL certificate for my subdomain (LetsEncrypt certbot). It's crucial to know how configure it properly. Here is the situation in detail: I have a main website running on Apache2, let's call the domain "[login to view URL]" I also have installed Odoo16 on the same server, which is running on port 8069 ("[login to view URL]") I tried creating a subdomain at "[login to view URL]" and requested an SSL certificate with LetsEncrypt certbot. My goal is to be able to access my Odoo16 instance using the subdomain https://pos.example.com. Without using https, visiting [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] will show my Odoo16, so I know for sure the problem is not with Odoo16 The problem is, when I try visiting [login to view URL], it shows a 503 error, Service Unavailable And if I try visiting [login to view URL], the browser shows SSL protocol error. I've tried changing a few settings in the Apache2 .conf files for this subdomain, but I'm not making any progress so far. Best case scenario is that visiting the [login to view URL] will lead me to the main website at [login to view URL] instead of the Odoo16, but that just means I'm back to where I started. If you're familiar with setting up subdomain with https on Apache2, I need your help.

Thank you for explaining the issue in details. I can fix it immediately. Most likely it will take me about 1 hour to fix. Good thing is without https subdomain is working, so only issue seems to be some misconfiguration while Apache2 doing SSL termination. About me, I have 14 years experience in managing LAMP stack.

It is easy to set up apache or any proxy server inside the same machine with your ssl certificate. we can set the ssl certificate in specific path, then grant http user to access it, then configure the apache to read ssl for that specific path, finally reload the https service and check the service
