I suggest - instead of using "wired communication" - to USE BLUETOOTH. You can use a UART-to-BLUETOOTH adapter such as the HC-05. The PIC16LF1518 would just treat this as a UART connection. Then on your Android phone use a serial-to-bluetooth app from the Play Store to send plain-text commands to the microcontroller. Example commands ... -> day_to_modify=monday -> leds_to_modify=5,6,7 -> on_time=7:30 -> off_time=8:15 Storing the parameters for 48 LED timers in the PIC16LF1518 itself might not be possible - as it only has 128 bytes EEPROM / NVS. You might need to use an external I2C EEPROM. Some questions: - What method of I/O expansion are you using to connect the 48 LEDs? - Are you using an LED strip (like neopixels)? - Can you send an electrical schematic? - Are you using an RTC for keeping track of date and time? If so then ... - How are you setting the date and time? I would use MPLAB X and either the SDCC or xc8 compiler for development.
