A freelance Artist (Painting) & a Knitwear Fashion Garment technology with a professional experience of 19+ years. Working with the garment industry, skilled in production management, garment technology, patterns, trend analysis, textiles & apparel.
With a flare in designing knitwear casuals for the first few years of professional experience I found myself reaching out to something i always wanted to do: teaching. I taught Fashion & Design with prestigious institutes in India and later in Dubai, creating more fashion designers.
My need to grow made me move into being a garment technologist, a profile my education had trained me for and I realized I just enjoyed being a garment technologist. I worked as a senior garment technologist with “Nayomi” one of the top lingerie and nightwear brands in UAE from Aug 2007 upto Feb 2018, a full hand in product development, creating tech packs and fixing garments to a level of perfection for the stores in the GCC. My passion & zest for my work and the aspect of sharing my knowledge helped me develop new joiners into garment technologists within the company.
The creative being hidden in me forced me to take to learning more about art and I pursued my Masters in Fine Art (Painting & History of Western & Indian Art) and post graduated in 2015. For me, life is all about learning and I am looking forward to doing a PhD research program in Art education. Having said that I’ve been a part of art exhibitions since 2010 in India as well as in UAE.
The history of work experience and knowledge in the garment industry paired with a recognized record of excellence in academics makes me an optimal resource for any garment business looking to expand.
I have authored and published a book "The Kill to Kilimanjaro" available on Kindle an achievement that links to the summit I conquered reaching Stella point on Mt.Kilimanjaro and the journey within.
