## BIO August 2001 – Present – Second Mouse Software, Thousand Oaks, CA – I have just recently started working full time at home on offsite contracting and local contracting positions. Mainly in the area of Windows programming n-Tier distributed solutions as well as DCOM (ActiveX, ATL, COM, COM+) development. I can handle any size job from a simple custom control to a fully clustered n-Tier distributed Server/Client solution. July 2000 – August 2001 – Quantum Digital Laboratories, Camarillo, CA – This Company secures digital data. I was the Senior Prototype Specialist and Technical Manager for our software based research lab. I worked to determine and get prototype solutions together or “Proof of Concept†work done in a R&D environment. We work with scientists that are doing quantum physics experiments and we are using derived knowledge in our development efforts. June 1997 – Present - The Software Group, Moorpark, CA – This is a web based software company specializing in solutions for Internet based business. I have worked for this company as a consultant for many different clients. I have done everything from proofreading to writing custom CGI solutions to Perl for clients, setting up entire sites complete with e-commerce solutions, etc... December 1999 – March 2000 – Nova Development Corporation, Calabasas, CA – Software Engineering Manager – I was in charge of the Tech Support department and two graphic designers. Mostly this company either buys software and repackages it, or has it sub-contracted out. I wrote installers for the Mac and Windows as well as writing utilities to aid in content development. In the short time I worked there my department managed to develop, QA and release 11 products. Including the #1 Home Print Productivity software for the Macintosh in both local and foreign markets, Print Explosion for the Macintosh. September 1999 – December 1999 – [login to view URL] Inc., Santa Monica, CA – This Company conducts online horse wagering at most tracks around the US. I was hired to develop new technology to allow this company to move from a dedicated application to a thin client (browser based). I developed both Java and OCX based client controls to allow a client to receive messages from the Tibco Rendezvous system. The client receives XML messages, responds by redrawing appropriate info. September 1998 – August 1999 – Surfsoft Inc. Mountain View, CA - This Company hires computer consultants that specialize in Internet technologies. My most recent contract dealing with imaging solutions for a San Diego based Technology Company. The first was using a USB camera to capture an image, then FTP the image to another server, the server would take the image and some text then use Automation to combine them into a Microsoft Word document and print it in the background. The second project is being patented and involves capturing images through different cameras and transmitting them to a web based client. This is a system that can be best described as a modern day closed circuit camera system using an Intranet and Cameras hooked up to capture cards in a distributed network. I had to do WinSock Server client programming as well as creating an ActiveX control (OCX) for the Web Client. May 1997 – January 1999 - Autologic Information International, Inc. Thousand Oaks, CA - Senior Software Engineer - This Company is the leader in Pre-Press software applications and hardware. In the time I worked at this company I became an expert in COM/ActiveX programming. This company develops products that deliver documents from one site to another and then Image through RIPS(Raster Image Processors) to their own brand Imagers. Including the Newest Imager the LUX, a digital to Film imager that is the hottest thing in Hollywood. Imagers quality at work (Batman & Robin, Titanic, American Werewolf in Paris, etc…). I have developed Com Services under NT for the Output Manager that works hand in hand with a SQL Database using ADO to access it. Along with full internet capabilities like html, ftp etc. file transfers and interfaces. June 1992 - March 1997 - Screenplay Systems Inc. Burbank, CA - Senior Software Engineer - An Academy Award winning software publisher specializes in the entertainment industries needs. · Movie Magic Budgeting v5.0 - A tool for budgeting a Movie. · Dramatica Pro - Released June/94'. A storyforming tool used by writers to help them see their story structure from many different views and gives them a better idea of what they are trying to create, story wise. · Dramatica Writers Dream Kit - Senior Engineer on this product. This was a scaled down version of Dramatica Pro for entry level writers. · SSI’s Cross Platform C++ Library - Senior Engineer designing and writing a cross platform C++ library for the Macintosh and MS-Windows operating systems. It is used much like MFC or OWL to build applications. All of the above listed applications were built using this technology. · Tools - Designed and implemented many tools to support SSI’s C++ Library including a resource editor, file I\O tools, Graphics utilities, etc. · Movie Magic Scheduling v2.7 - Updated this application that was written using MCP, a Macintosh tool kit that allows you to write to the Macintosh Toolbox and emulated under DOS. March 1991 - June 1992 - Frontier Analytics Inc. Marina del Rey, CA - Systems Engineer - An investment technologies company specializing in financial math models for asset allocation. · Allocation Master - A DOS GUI application, this application was used by Financial Planners to determine risk/return scenarios of stocks, bonds, mutuals and the like. · AOM - First Windows product I produced. This product was an Asset Optimization Model that used the Allocation Masters technology to derive a better model for the large investment models needed for several of the world’s largest banking institutions (Northern Trust, Banker’s Trust to name a couple). A database retrieval program that analyzes the stock market and gives financial "what ifs". · DBM - A Defined Benefit Model that used actuary tables and the investment technology of the AOM to communicate through DDE under Windows to give the large investment institution a better way to look at risk. · EOM - A Endowment Optimization Model fitting in as the third application that communicated with the other two, AOM & DBM, models to give the Institutions complete control over all aspects of asset management. November 1990 - March 1991 - SharEd Inc. North Hollywood, CA - Software Engineer - I designed and developed an Accounts receivable payable database entry program. This consisted of a program that "Hooked" into existing software for the Used Car industry. My design retrieved the desired billing data and generated automatic billin ## Area of Expertise Windows since Monochrome version, MFC, ATL/ADO, MTS, COM, DCOM, ActiveX, OLE, WIN32, SQL. Very Strong C++, C, Java, 68K Assembler Many Platforms including Linux, SGI Irix, Unix (FreeBSD, Interactive, most flavors), OS2, Mac, Palm/Visor. Have done many distributed computing projects including n-Tier Client/Server/Database applications on several platforms, using COM, Java, C++, C. I have also done a lot of graphics work over the years, I got into computers because I wanted to control what was on the screen. Since then I have done everything from simple drawing programs to remote controlling professional broadcast equipment for automated newsrooms. I have done work with custom Camera work through USB as well as custom capture boards and high end cameras doing real-time frame differentiating for movement and size of object to queue recording and transmission of changed frames to save bandwidth. Complexity is my middle name, I have worked on very complex projects from day one and can think of solutions for a problem if there is one. That is why I am mainly a Prototype specialist or Proof of concept kind of person now. If it can be done, I will let you know, then I can code it for you to boot!
