I am an enthuiastic, outgoing, hardworking individual whose delight is to provide solid, supportive editing and writing to individuals and corporations in a timely manner. I worked for five years as a writer and editor at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where I was conidered by the Director of Communications as "its most precise copyeditor." I have edited several books and written, edited, or published communications of all kinds. Having taught writing at the college level, I also have background in writing and editing for academic medicine, higher education, real estate, computer science, and religion. I have also written promotional copy for many businesses. In every position I have held, my skills and professionalism have been considered to be at the highest level. Indeed, in my earliest positions in communications, I won two first-place awards in writing and reporting. One award was for writing about the local real estate market during a period of double-digit inflation; the other, about failed government inspection of tank cars that resulted in a widespread evacuation in Central Virginia.
