A diligent and meticulous Geographer with a keen interest in how technology can be used to support planning processes and decision making. I specialize in skills contained in the field of Geography. These include Cartography, GIS, Computer Programming (GIS Development), Remote Sensing, Geoprocessing, Geocoding, Stakeholder Consultation, and Research & Development, and Planning (Ocean Planning).
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Geography, a post-graduate diploma in GIS, and a Masters Degree in Marine Studies (Marine Spatial Planning and Management). As a Geographer with 9 years of professional experience, I have had the opportunity to apply my GIS skill set in both the public and private sectors.
Outside of freelancing, my professional career spans a variety of sectors, including working in the Biodiversity Monitoring industry as a GIS Technician, the Oil & Gas industry as a GIS Technician / Developer, Statistical Agencies serving as a Geographer for Northern and Western Canada, and currently as an Analyst in the Fisheries industry. Some cartographic products I produced throughout these industries include Habitat Maps, Footprint Maps, Oil & Gas Maps, Emergency Response Maps, Geocoded Custom Geography Maps, producing/maintaining Online Mapping Atlases, and more.
