Hello! My name is Meliza and I live in Sri Lanka; a beautiful tear drop in the Indian Ocean. The very title of my country is an oxymoron, sad yet beautiful. My plans and dreams for a bright future reaches far and deep and sometimes, I'll admit, gets ahead of me. I have though, however, a dream to make something of myself. I am currently studying law at BCAS (British College of Applied Studies) in Sri Lanka as I wished to pursue a career in the legal field since I was a kid.
I find much pleasure in literature and psychology, and exercise some of my literal skills when I am free (I have given some of my work at the end of the objective). I would describe myself to be a hard-working and care free person who does not carry much respect for the status quo.
I studied in Holy Family Convent that is located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Yes a Convent, thank you very much. I must add that it did not influence the length of my skirt. I believe myself to be quite a social butterfly and enjoy people's company and drinks. The latter a bit too much. I find myself quite comfortable when speaking in public and henceforth worked as a TV Presenter on MTV Sports on a show titled 'Chill Pill'. I also landed myself with a job at 'Midnightdivas' as a PR executive. I worked there for a certain period of time and then left the job as I had to begin my law degree and because the office didn't offer any part-time jobs.
I have managed to receive A's for my main subjects, i.e. for Math, Science, English, Religion, ICT and History for my GCE O/L exam that I sat for in 2010 and have been fascinated with Science and Math ever since. I can type 79wpm, thanks to facebook chat logs and repeated break ups over an overflowing inbox.
I love creative writing and drawing.
I have a fair knowledge in IT that will get the work done.
This is an example of my writing,
When humans first began to live in groups they started to notice that in order to live in harmony and peace, they needed to live by certain rules. That is, one individual must know and respect the rights of another in order to co-exist. Henceforth we see human civilization striving to control human behavior in ways that they deemed fit. When languages formed into writing, the king of Babylon, Hammurabi, made arrangements for the laws that were exercised at that time, to be in script. However the most famous for ancient laws were that of Moses, which were found in the first five books of the bible. The Ten Commandments covers all laws that are required to be followed if the behavioral patterns of individuals are to be regulated in regard to one another. It is here that I debated with myself of the source of this particular ancient code. Was the source of Law, really the voice of God, or merely humans conscience by which we are governed to date to do what is right, and are occasionally reminded of our wrong doings with a throb of guilt? I decided to go with the latter, which is why I believe that the conscience, i.e. the mother of morality is what gave birth to law, jurisprudence and justice.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my summary.
Have a great day.
