The first part describes the electricity market liberalization process and shows power exchange functionality and products that are traded. Using EEX exchange as a reference, electricity trade is explained through spot and derivatives market. Spot market is classified with two markets: day-ahead spot market (auctions) and continuous intra-day spot market.
