What are Subscriptions?

Subscriptions are recurring payments from a client to a freelancer. Subscriptions can only be created from Quotes or Services sent from the freelancer to the client.

When the client accepts a Quote with a subscription item - a subscription will be created in the project. This subscription will automatically create and fund a milestone at the start of every billing period. At the end of every billing period, this milestone will be released and a new milestone will be created and automatically funded.

Why use Subscriptions?

Subscriptions reduce time spent on project admin, meaning both the client and freelancer can focus on getting work done rather than managing milestones.

Subscriptions also help freelancers build stronger relationships with their clients and generate stable revenue streams.

How do you make a Subscription?

Creating a Subscription is simple. 

First start by creating a Quote. 

Then click Add subscription. You will then need to provide a description of the subscription item and the amount the client will be charged each month.

How do you manage Subscriptions?

Navigate to the Payments tab on the project created from the subscription Quote. You will notice a Subscriptions section. 

From this section by clicking the three dots as a Freelancer you can:

     ● Pause the subscription

From this section by clicking the three dots as a Client you can:
 
     ● Change the payment method 

     ● Pause the subscription

Pausing a Subscription

Pausing a subscription will result in the subscription not being billed at the start of the next billing period. The current subscription milestone will still be released at the end of the billing period. 

Resuming a Subscription

Only the client can resume a paused subscription. To resume a subscription as a client you can click the three dots next to the subscription item and click Resume Subscription.


    

Subscription fees

Fees for Subscriptions and all related milestones are 5% for freelancers and 0% for clients. Note that any fixed or hourly milestones will still be charged at the standard project rate.
