Design a ‘Repeatable Vehicle’

3.1 Individual Report (50%)

Produce a 10-page report detailing your individual design for the device addressing learning outcomes:

Designing engineering components and assemblies (25%):

• Concept sketches with annotations that concisely describe the device and communicate how it will achieve the two distinct target phases described in the DC document. Evidence of design process.

• Technical drawings, to industry standards, of the key mechanical components that enable the device to reach the targets. Hand drawings are acceptable but must be clear. Plus a wiring diagram where appropriate. Additionally, if the device uses a self-generated program (e.g. running on a Raspberry Pi or Arduino board) then also include a flow diagram of the program.

• Evidence of the cost of the proposed design.

Understanding basic dynamic theory related to simple machine components and systems (25%):

• Explanation of the engineering science underpinning the device function.

• Detailed analysis of the problem to predict performance. Calculations must be clearly laid out where

specified - typed not hand written.

DO NOT EXCEED 10 pages. Excess pages will not be read or marked. Use A4 paper, 11-point font, numbered pages and simply staple in the top LH corner - no covers, plastic wallets etc.
