MS Search Server (Sharepoint) Configuration Assistance

Hi! I'm looking for someone with some experience with MS Search Server & Sharepoint. I have a Windows Server 2012 with MS Search Server (Sharepoint/MSSS 2010 I think) It currently correctly indexes documents on our server and shows results based on the logged-in user via the web-based search portal. I also have a search connector that I use for Win7/Win10 searches. Current issues: 1. Index text in PDF Files I installed the latest (v11) 64 bit adobe ifilter but its not working picking up PDF the content inside my PDF files 2. I dont understand how to use mapping... My server is \\ABCServer Files are in \\ABCServer\Documents Every user has this share mapped to the drive T:\ I'd like them to be referenced with T:\, not \\ABCServer 3. Search seems erratic. I get more accurate results just looking at file names using a filesystem tool like everything or locate32! The files are in the content source - have a filename with the keyword but dont always show up. Maybe i've misconfigured the content source? 4. Is it possible to index plaintext in binaries? If so,help :) BUDGET: I see this as QUICK configuration tweaks for a knowledgeable sharepoint/MSSS person: Task 1. Presumably this is a quick config issue for someone with experience with ms search server. I remember earlier versions of the adobe ifilter, it was a registry entry and the addition of a filetype in an XML definitions file. Task 2. Again - this is neither development, installation or customisation - just configuration of the mapping option (which has 2 fields to customise) to meet expected behaviour. Task 3. I understand this is vague - but my expectation is that someone who knows search server can look at the content source configuration pages and identify any obvious problems - I certainly dont have the budget for you to take on microsoft and re-write their search algorithms... Task 4. Likely a yes/no answer. If yes, My expectation is that this is like task #1. If this is more than 30 minute's work via remote desktop I'd be surprised and need your assistance understanding where more time is needed. Hence my expectation is in the range of $50 unless you can provide some feedback as to where I am mistaken. I'm open to whatever budget you have in mind, but will ignore random "we can do anything for you, we are good sharepoint company" bids for >$50 Thanks for your time & look forward to working with someone with experience with MSSS
