Good day. I like neural networks, but they are not the only predictive algorithms that work well. In your case I cannot help but think something like Markov Decision Process modelling suits the problem better. You have good probabilistic/statistical data, but not a huge volume of data in a format you can easily process for deep learning. On the other hand you have a good intuitive understanding of game probabilities and how your random variables affect the outcome. You have team state and world state variables. This leans towards MDP. I would include past coin tosses and home game versus away game variables. What about pitch - fast paced or slow ? These are major influencing factors to consider.
