We need a small PHP based website to administer content and output some simple JSON, a sample file is attached.
The building is open Monday to Friday for a standard number of hours – from 8:00 until 5:30. For special events the building might close early, stay open late, or not open at all. We need to have a simple way to make and edit database entries to list when the building will be open at times different to the standard opening hours. The JSON file will list the standard opening time except on days when there is an opening time variation. Allow the user to enter a start date and an end date (the same as the start date if undefined) for each closing time alteration, as well as a short message (maximum 30 chars) such as "Closed for Easter" or "Summer Hours".
There is also a news feed of events taking place in the building on certain days. It must be possible to add, modify and remove entries. Allow the user to enter a start date and an end date (the same as the start date if undefined) for each event entry. The JSON output will list all events taking place on the day.
Please create a simple admin interface to show a list of dates (for Opening time variations) and a list of Events. Only show current and future items – things which have occurred in the past (their start and end date are before the current date) should be hidden from the user. Offer an option to create a new entry, edit an existing entry or delete it.
The UI doesn't need to be fancy, just some simple Bootstrap will be fine.
Deliverables:
• SQL query to create appropriate tables in a MySQL database.
• PHP files to place in web root to perform the actions above.
