This project is only for coders who can design and code in a very efficient and clean manner. No dirty lines of code, no hacked scripts. Must be 100% secure and must be as a result of the efficiency - very fast. I will inspect the source code following the finishing of the project. Any unsatisfactory standards will mean that the project is cancelled. You will need for this project, experience and fluency in: * PHP * HTML * CSS * DHTML * MySQL or Flatfile Database Finally, the coder will need to remain in constant contact with myself, as I will have several projects in the future and want to constantly update all developed websites into making them premiere destinations on the Internet. As a result, if I need a new feature added, I will contact you (and pay) accordingly. Now for the details about this site: The main aim of the website is to serve the purpose of WWW.NEWSMAP.JP. As you can see, the site is in Flash and scrapes the data directly from Google News. The website displays the news stories from Google News regional areas by forming the data into a 'treemap'. The larger the square means the more sources (and importance) a particular story has. For example, if an article on Google News has 5,000 related stories, it will be a large square, if it has only 10, then it will be a small one. For my design, I would like that entire Flash application to be written instead in HTML using PHP for coding. This is so that the site will rank in the search engines appropriately. That is the basic idea of how the site will work, it's fully dynamic and takes no input from myself.? There must be a option to choose news from within the last 10 minutes, from within the last 1 hour and then more than one hour. (Please see the dark grey buttons on the bottom left of [login to view URL] for a detailed view). In the corner of the option bar there must be symbols displaying current weather in users location (using GeoIP). FINALLY, stories must not be kept for anything more than 90 days. To look after database size and website size. I need some good SEO advice for this. ## Deliverables This is the FULL specification (as always it is open to new ideas and advancement ideas from the coder!) --- This project is only for coders who can design and code in a very efficient and clean manner. No dirty lines of code, no hacked scripts. Must be 100% secure and must be as a result of the efficiency - very fast. I will inspect the source code following the finishing of the project. Any unsatisfactory standards will mean that the project is cancelled. Please also note that bids without examples of efficient work will be rejected. That is the basic idea of how the site will work, it's fully dynamic and takes no input from myself.? Now to explain the differences between my version and that of [login to view URL]: * My home page will still display the data as a treemap of squares, but instead of being a solid colour, they will be white with text and outline border of each box of the relevant colour. On mouse over, that will change to a full colour square with white text (that will be fade using DHTML). ? All the text and meta tags must be prominent on every page as search-engine optimisation (SEO) is 100% important. As you can see on the [login to view URL] website, you can mouse over the articles and have a box pop up with a picture, a description and a link to view all other related links. I want that to be the same, perhaps also using DHTML or whatever technology you feel is best.? On the home page, it will allow for buttons to select a different category and a drop down to select a different country (as Google News comes in many varieties). The main home page however, will show the top stories from all categories, like the [login to view URL] site. If a user clicks on a particular category, they will see ALL the stories from that category on the page. so to clarify - home page will show just the top stories from each section of news, and when you go to an individual section, then you can view ALL top news from that area alone. The difference being that the [login to view URL] option bar is on the bottom, and perhaps we'd use the top. We'll play around with the design. I imagine the URL schematics working as follows (with country on arrival chosen by GeoIP search). [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] And so on. There must be a final option to choose news from within the last 10 minutes, from within the last 1 hour and then wmore than one hour. (Please see the dark grey buttons on the bottom left of [login to view URL] for a detailed view). In the corner of the option bar there must be symbols displaying current weather in users location (again using GeoIP). FINALLY, stories must not be kept for anything more than 90 days. To look after database size and website size.
