Find Expired and On-Hold Domain Names

We need a VB6 program that can find expired and on-hold domain names in realtime. It must be "superfast", have a great looking and easy to use GUI. When it got a list of domain names it should be able to run each domain name agains all the major search engines and directories like, AltaVista, MSN, AOL, Google, Excite, Yahoo etc... to find out if it already is registered w/ev position etc... This info will then be used to generate a popularity report. The idea is if an expired domain still is registered on a major search engine, then the user can register it and setup a website that immidiately would receive some traffic. The better ranking in our popularity report, the more traffic the domain might receive. The software will link to a domain register site, and also to a webhostings provider, so the user easy can both register and get web hosting if needed.
