We are looking for a web developer with excellent graphic design skills to build us a new website. The website should be written in good clean HTML and should ideally pass all relevant syntax checking. We prefer not to use much Flash or Javascript but it can be used if required for some small elements. The website should be optimised for 1024 x 768 resolution but still be useable at lower, and still look good at higher. The website is for mobile phone repairs, specifically for the HTC range. The website will perform 3 primary functions: 1) To provide details of the various faults that each models of HTC can have – i.e. – each HTC model will have one page, on that page all the possible faults will be listed and a price to repair each fault. This data is already stored in a MySQL database and you will need to work with our existing web developer to integrate your system to the database of makes/models/faults/prices 2) To allow customers to select a particular model & fault and “checkout” providing us their personal details and allowing them to print paperwork to sent with their faulty unit – again this will require tight integration with our existing PHP systems so that your website will “handover” to the existing PHP code to manage this process 3) To be a brochure website with the usual type pages: a. Home page b. About us c. FAQs d. Contact us (& thanks) e. Find us f. Template page for selecting all the HTC models g. Template page for viewing all the faults for a particular HTC model h. Template page for viewing details of a particular model/fault combination (e.g. HTC Desire – Cracked LCD screen) The site will need to be broken into segments to integrate with the existing systems, so that we have a [login to view URL] and a [login to view URL] that the web developer can include in PHP coding for the parts of the system that integrate with existing systems. The design should work cross browser including Google Chrome, as well as older versions of Internet Explorer & Firefox. The design should also look reasonable on iPhone, Blackberry and Smart Phones. The primary focus of this project is to come up with an original, good looking design, the PHP integration is secondary but still important. We will require you to come up with 3 different prototype designs for us to look at. Once we see them we will choose one as the basis of the website with changes and/or elements from the other designs. If none of the prototypes are up to scratch we will reserve the right to end the project early and will only be liable for a maximum of 20% of the agreed final cost.
