PHPBB Integration Into WebSpell

I want to have the default WebSpell forums replaced with PHPBB forums. This includes not only making PHPBB look like a seamless part of the website, but also full user account integration. In other words, the person should only have to register once at our website and have it appear to them they are using only one account, despite being on both WebSpell and PHPBB.
Also, all of the functions built for WebSpell's forums should be integrated as well, for instance our latest topics section, number of posts a WebSpell user has in the forum, etc. ? Any old references to the WebSpell forum should be hidden so as to not confuse users.
This is for a gaming clan website, and we already have 19 WebSpell accounts and a similar amount of PHPBB accounts we would like to retain (many of them are the same people that would need to be linked). If this is too large an issue, the WebSpell users can be wiped but we would like to retain the PHPBB users.?

On our website, you will note you can see the latest 5 news items, downloads, or forum posts. The forum posts will need to be made to link to the PHPBB forum and work.?
Other small details such as Forum Posts or Forum Topics under the statistics section of the Webspell users' profile section will also need to be integrated.
Again, there should only be one login, and one registration for new users. If you log out while you are on the forums, you shouldn't still be logged in somewhere else, and vice versa.
Any old Webspell controls related to the webspell forums should be hidden or removed so as to not have any confusion. This is both for normal users and the admin.
