small javascript job after form processing

On the current page people can send their condolances online through a simple form. When the message is sent, they currently don't receive a confirmation on screen that their input has been received well. This feature has to be added to the site (= the only thing required for this project). What would it cost to add some javascript in order to show a confirmation message after each input ? Site is built on an old CMS - [url removed, login to view] & forms were built using Zend framework.
