Redesign GUI for Advanced Access Repair

UI Design Specification(Outline)

A more detailed version of the specification is attached.

We want someone to redesign the GUI(graphic user interface) of our software Advanced Access Repair. This is a design task, not a programming task. We do not need you to implement the GUI on our program.

1. Brief introduction

Advanced Access Repair (AAR) is a powerful Access recovery tool. The audiences are those who may use Microsoft Access databases.

3. Overall requirements

The redesigned GUI must be simple, but professional and easy to use. You'd better to use the native Windows controls instead of skinned ones. Some supplemental pictures will be OK. But DO NOT skin the whole application as this is unnecessary fantastic and difficult to implement.

3.1 At the users' first impression of the application, they will believe it is a professional, trustable commercial software made by a professional and large IT or software company instead of an amateur.

3.2 At the first time when the users use our application, they can know how to use it by themselves.

3.3 The users can find the functions they want in a quick way.

3.4 The interface should be extensible.

4. More design specifications:

4.1 Please perform general application interaction design.

4.2 Decide the overall layout, according to the software's functionalities.

4.3 Decide which user interface element is the most appropriate one, according to its sub-function in the software.

4.4 Decide how to arrange the elements in the UI so that it can comfort both the eyes and the operations of the user.

4.5 Graphics design. If necessary, please redesign the icon of the application, as well as the toolbar and menu icons(if have).

4.6 Perform usability testing and analyzing on the completed interface.

Mockups of the user interface(only the main interface) are not required but will be highly appreciated.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

4) We should have the completed copyright of the GUI design.

5) You must complete the GUI design for all the interface that will be used by the program.

6) You must complete the GUI design for all the statuses of the interface and the controls.

7) You must deliver the completed GUI design in PSD or other picture format.

8) You DO NOT need to implement the designed GUI on our program.

## Platform

The designed UI should be for all 32bit Windows platform, including Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 etc.
