50% of this task is QA related. I expect that you'll encounter issues while creating the program using the supplied library. So I expect that you'll report them. I also would like you to create a usable testing environment for testing the GUI.
50% of this task is creating a UI. By using a library that performs all upload/download operations, I would like you to create a simple windows UI. This UI will allow me to select files from the local filesystem and upload them.
There is a library that can perform most backup related functions correctly. Manual testing on this library has been completed. However, this library didnt go through extensive testing.
We are basically looking for expert C++ programmers to complete and test a backup solution that works on windows.
The library that we will provide doesnt have any GUI.
Your task also includes creating an automated testing environment for testing the code you wrote.
I can send the library features if you are interested.
## Deliverables
Deliverables:
1. a .lib (debug / release) versions
2. a .h
3. an executable for windows
4. documentation
An installer is also necessary as the main deliverable will be the library and executable.
The solution needs to use plain C++ and compiled on windows using visual studio 2005. There should be no warnings or error messages.
The developer should be familiar with source control and bug management (svn and mantis). A large number of libraries will be provided and there is some integration effort.
A regression tester (a batch file is fine) that can be used to test concurrency issues needs to be provided.
We expect the code size to be small. Most of the time would be spent on ensuring the correctness of the solution.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
